Links for Brunel students and staff to use and/or install Matlab
Please note that the Brunel Matlab portal has just been created and
any notes that I create to help you may be quite brief and may change
as more testing is done.
My understanding is that the portal will always have the latest version
of Matlab which at the end of March 2020 is R2020A which is newer
than the version installed in the Brunel labs.
There are two releases per calander year.

Directly to the online version
If your first attempt at using the portal is to go directly to the
online version then you will need to select the create an account option
and you will have to use your @brunel.ac.uk email.
Afterwards you will use the @brunel.ac.uk email for the login
and the mathworks password that you have created.
Please note that the following does not work with internet explorer.
There is a list of browser which are supported.
From the ones that I am able to try, the Windows Microsoft edge browser
works and the google chrome browser on linux works

Upload and Download comments
There is a MATLAB-drive but I do not have experience yet of
``syncing'' files in a folder on a local computer with files on the
``cloud server'' to be able to work in this mode.
It is however worth doing the install for this.
If the syncs are not working immediately then
there is the possibility of using the upload and download
bits in the top bar for the files you wish to use or retrieve.
Relative to your home folder, the default name of the folder on
the local computer is "MATLAB DRIVE" on windows and "MATLAB-DRIVE"
on linux.
You can also upload a zip file to get several files on the cloud
server in one go.
By running the command to create the zip file to eventually submit,
and which was used in the getting started task,
is a way of creating a file so that you only need to download one file.
Please note that I am learning the system and I can only offer
limited advice.
