Knowledge Transfer is the responsibility of the Brunel Institute for Ageing Studies (Director: Professor Mary Gilhooly), the auspices under which this core research package is to be run, in close collaboration with the Brunel Institute for Bioengineering (Former Director: Professor Ian Sutherland). Eleanor van den Heuvel (Principal Investigator) and Felicity Jowitt will also play a key role in this work package.
The project advisory meetings were convened on the 6th of March 2009, 13th of May 2010 and 10th of May 2011. The three meetings were all held at the Age UK Office in London and chaired by Professor Alan Cottenden. Brunel Older people’s Reference Group (BORG)

Recruitment of volunteers at the Brunel Community Research Fair, March 2010
The Brunel Older people’s Reference Group has been created by researchers who are interested in various aspects of ageing. Our aim is to investigate key issues for the large proportion of the population who are aged 50 and over. We are very keen to strengthen our links with the community and to create a database of local people who are interested in our research.
Local people are invited to sign up to receive invitations to events at Brunel University and information about research projects they might like to take part in.
For more information or to get involved, please contact Mrs Eleanor van den Heuvel Eleanor.van.den.Heuvel@brunel.ac.uk or 01895 266 921.
