Abstract
This paper will introduce the area of simulation modelling and will discuss the importance of considering users in the development of simulation systems that support the modelling process. We will examine six modelling systems and critically analyse aspects of their user interfaces that are likely to impact on the usefulness of simulation systems. We will suggest that these systems cater for and support users in different ways, but that there are many areas in which improvements can be made.
