Steps Towards the Formalisation os a Psycho-logic of Motion

J.Bliss, J.Ogborn

Synopsis

We propose some steps towards a formalisation of a commonsense theory about motion, more particularly its development. This account attempts to show first how a number of primitive actions, basic schemes and rules evolve and then how these combine in a rigorous manner to form basic prototypes of motion. From a small number of prototypical movements later prototype motions can be developed or elaborated. These prototypes provide a coherent but flexible system of prototypical motions in terms of which commonsense reasoning interprets movements and their causes.
