PHYSICA-FEMGV
A market sector addressed by FEMGV is use with PHYSICA. Both pre- and post-interfaces are well developed and a number of standard element types are supported. Animation of steel investment casting
The picture shows a 3D animation (900 secs. real time) of the casting of an aluminium test bar, VERICAST, simulated in PHYSICA. FEMVIEW is used to display stress contours (Max. 1000 MPa), and a single command allows animation over a set of results. The user can see the aluminium cast shrinking and the residual effective stresses due to the deformable sand mould constraining the aluminium cast.
