 THE 3rd ANNUAL ECONOMICS AND FINANCE PHD STUDENT CONFERENCE

After two successful conferences in 2008 and 2009, Economics and Finance PhD students at Brunel University are proud to announce the 3rd Annual conference for PhD students will be taking place on Friday the 11th of June 2010.

 

The event will be sponsored by the Brunel University Graduate School. And supported by Economics and Finance Department at Brunel.

 

The call for papers is addressed to all research students willing to present their work in order to receive immediate feedback in a friendly environment. We welcome submissions in all areas of Economics and Finance, including interdisciplinary work.

 

Papers will be grouped separately into either Economics or Finance, and will be presented in two parallel sessions. Each speaker will present to a panel for 20 minutes and a 10 minute discussion will follow. Keynote speakers will address the opening sessions.

 

Keynote speakers:

1-      Prof. Kerry Patterson (University of Reading): A Primer on Unit Root Tests.

2-      Dr. Martin Weale (Director of The National Institute of Economic and Social Research): The National Debt as a Burden.

Submission and acceptance

Please send applications and papers to: econfinphdconference@brunel.ac.uk

Submissions should be completed papers or drafts of completed research. Please note that abstracts alone will not be accepted. All submissions must include a contact address, an email address and a contact phone number. The deadline for the submission of drafts is 30th April 2010. Papers received after this cannot be considered for review. We will send an email confirmation shortly after we receive a submission. After reviewing submissions, the organisers will give notification of acceptance to the applicants by 18th May 2010.
