IEEE Competition on Evolutionary Computation
for Dynamic Optimization Problems (ECDOP-Competition-2012)
IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence,
June 10-15, 2012, Brisbane, Australia
Many realworld optimization problems are dynamic optimization problems (DOPs),
where changes may occur over time regarding the objective function, decision
variable, and constraints, etc. DOPs raise big challenges to traditional optimization
methods as well as evolutionary algorithms (EAs). The last decade has witnessed
increasing research efforts on handling dynamic optimization problems using EAs and
other metaheuristics, and a variety of methods have been reported across a broad
range of application backgrounds. The aim of this competition is to promote research
on the applications of Evolutionary Computation (EC), including nature-inspired
computational models, meta-heuristic techniques, and other intelligent methods,
to the solution of DOPs.
Benchmark Problems and Test Platform
For the competition, benchmark DOPs and relevant test and evaluation platform are
provided in C++ codes for interested participators to use and integrate their codes
to test their algorithms. The Technical Report regarding the benchmark DOPs and
performance measure for the competition is available
here. The test and evaluation
platform is included in the library of EAlib and is available
The Competition will be co-organized with the Special Session on EC in Dynamic and
Uncertain Environments (EciDUE), which will be organised within CEC 2012. Papers that
are accepted to the Special Session on ECiDUE and are based on the Competition test
and evaluation platform are allowed to participate in the Competition. Interested
researchers are invited to contribute their papers to the Special Session on ECiDUE
and participate in the Competition. All papers are to be submitted electronically
through the IEEE WCCI 2012 website at
