Hi, welcome to my homepage! I am presently working as a Research Fellow in the EU-funded FP7 project on e-Infrastructure called BELIEF. I am based in the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics in Brunel University. Prior to this, I worked as a Reserch Fellow in Healthcare Modelling and Simulation at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. My research interests include Grid Computing, Parallel and Distributed Simulation and Healthcare Simulation. I am also doing research in Commercial-Off-The-Shelves (COTS) simulation package interoperability using middleware for distributed simulation. I completed my PhD in Information Systems and Computing from Brunel University in June 2007. While studying for my PhD, I worked in the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics as a RAE assistant to Prof. Ray Paul. I hold a Masters degree "with Distinction" in Distributed Systems from Brunel, a BA degree from Calcutta University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Computer Science from CMC Ltd - Education & Training. I come from Calcutta (now "Kolkata") [pics], the capital of the state of West Bengal, in India. |

It has a very good introduction to European e-Infrastructures - a term that is used to collectively refer to high-speed networks, cluster and supercomputers, petabyte data storage, grid middleware, end-user applications and remote instruments. e-Infrastructures are the backbone of e-Science (e-Science is the use of advanced computing technologies that allow large-scale scientific research to be conducted in a distributed and collaborative environment).
