Getting from London Heathrow Airport to the Mill Hall Reception.

The Brunel University web pages describe various ways of getting to the Uxbridge campus.

These notes give additional information for people who will arrive at London Heathrow airport and wish to go to the Mill Hall Reception, on the Uxbridge campus, in order to register for the conference and to get the keys to their room. The most direct route from the airport to Mill Hall reception is go to the Heathrow Central Bus Station (close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and close to the underground station) and to take the U3 bus towards Uxbridge. The U3 service may operate from stand 18 at the bus station at the airport but you are advised to check this. After around 30--40 minutes (depending on the traffic) this bus passes along Cleveland Road and stops just outside Mill Hall which will be on your left as you go towards Uxbridge. The bus stop is just past some traffic lights for a pedestrian crossing. On the other side of the road just before the traffic lights you will see a pond and an entrance to Brunel University. If you get off the bus here then you will need to start walking along the path between Mill Hall and Marie Jahoda building until you see the signs to the reception of Mill Hall which is towards the back of the building.

The U3 bus journey currently (as at May 2006) costs 1.50 pounds to travel one way between the airport and the university. The bus runs at about every 12 minutes from about 0700 to 1900 and at about every 20 minutes up until midnight.

You can also travel from the airport to the university using the A10 bus as described in the university's web pages. The bus journey time will be around 10 minutes less than that of the U3 service but the bus stop for this is on the Uxbridge Road (A4020) on the other side of the campus to Mill Hall. If you take into account how long it takes to walk across campus carrying luggage then the total journey time is likely to be longer than the U3 option described here. You will be staying in Galbraith Hall which is behind Mill Hall.
